Undergrad Surface Tension vs. Capillary Force
What's the difference between surface tension and capillary force? Surface tension, a tensor, is the force per unit length. Again surface energy is the energy required to increase the surface area by one unit. Is the surface tension a capillary force? -

Is This Thermodynamic Relationship Correct?
How can I prove the following relation T(∂p/∂T)v,N +(∂T/∂V)u,N =p(∂T/∂U)v,N where p= pressure, V= volume, U=internal energy, T= Temperature. I tried by fundamental relation and Maxwell's relation but couldn't able to prove it. I would appreciate if anybody helps me out.- hasibme2k
