How Does a Bug's Temperature Reading Change as It Moves Along a Curve?

Hey thanks for the replies... the horizontal component eh, so if it's traveling at 0.01m/s from left to right then x = u(t) = 0.01t, and then if y = x^2, so wouldn't y = (0.01t)^2 then? How do you arrive at sqrt{(u')^2+ (v')^2}= 0.01? Wouldn't the bug be at (1,1) at 100 seconds given the...

How Does a Bug's Temperature Reading Change as It Moves Along a Curve?

Homework Statement [12] 3.Thetemperature T(x, y) at a point of the xy-plane is given by T(x,y)= ye^(x^2). A bug travels from left to right along the curve y = x^2 at a speed of 0.01m/sec. The bug monitors T(x, y) continuously. What is the rate of change of T as the bug passes through...

Need to get A+ on the next math midterm

Haha yeah... the point is to understand, I mean its about what you learn not the marks after all. But at the same time, it's got to look good on that transcript for the employers. I've made it my personal goal to get an A+ in math and I'm working towards that. It's not that the material itself...

Need to get A+ on the next math midterm

Hello everybody. After getting back my last math midterm I feel like a damn orangutan who's one wooden box short of getting that dangling banana. My question is, what are your strategies for acing your math midterms? I understand most of the material and I do study fastidiously but somehow that...

Transfer to Engineering from 2nd year science

Going back to my previous question, does anyone here know how competitive it is to get into UBC E from Science? They never reveal any collated statistics about how everyone's grades are lol, and I'm too lazy to wade through that many grade spreads so yeah.

Transfer to Engineering from 2nd year science

Actually, it'll probably take me the same amount of time to graduate in either program... 6 years, maybe 7 for Engineering if I take co-op. And Yeah I have taken the 1st and will be taking the 2nd year math prereqs (Calc III, Linear Algebra) for the Engineering program but other than that no...

Transfer to Engineering from 2nd year science

Hmm ok thanks.. so what kinda average are we looking at for admission in Engineering at UBC from science? I have an A average overall for my first year Math Phys and Chem courses... is that good? Cuz I know they give preference to the Highschoolers who apply and such.

Transfer to Engineering from 2nd year science

Sup everybody... so I've created this account after deciding that lurking around for solutions to my Calculus homework isn't the sole benefit of this forum. So, the problem is that I'm going into a Biochem major next year (2nd year) at UBC which the original intent of apply for the Pharmacy...
