What is Applied Sciences in Engineering?
it's hard to say without looking at the program, you may want to look at an engineering discipline that will award an ABET accredited (engineering) degree if you are looking to work in industry.- Highway

Courses EE or ChemE? Research vs. Courses
I wouldn't jump ship completely because of one bad semester, I think a lot of people have been in a similar type of situation, and have been able to turn things around, so try to stay positive and really commit to those study habit / work ethic changes. If you don't like the sound of those ChE...- Highway

Courses EE or ChemE? Research vs. Courses
Terrible as in . . . Less than a 3.9? Less than a 3.0? Less than a 2.0? If you don't like the sound of ChE classes, you could possibly do a minor in bio or chem if you like synthetic bio. The main EE / SynBio labs that I know of are Tom Knight in CSAIL at MIT and Ron Weiss at Princeton in EE...- Highway

Courses EE or ChemE? Research vs. Courses
you can probably switch to ChE and back to ECE again if you don't like it, so you should give it a try . . . talk to someone in ChE to see what they say about it. How are your grades in engineering so far?- Highway

Schools Why Is AP Chemistry So Challenging for Me?
get AP books / study guides / etc and work through those problems on your own. Pick a few friends from class who are doing well and ask them for clarification on stuff you don't understand outside of class. Offer to get a pizza or whatever for the hour or so they take out of their schedule to...- Highway

Admissions How much do late transcripts affect graduate admission decisions?
not sure, but i imagine it can't be too bad if you have the app in already, but not the transcripts. mainly you may miss out on funding if they have already offered it to others, but i really can't say for sure.- Highway

Need advice for retaking a class
stuff happens, it isn't the end of the world. i think an important lesson is learning how to do work using a computer to solve computational problems. in research, grad school, and the real world, being able to do this could prove to be a big deal, depending on what you end up doing.- Highway

Is there a future in Engineering
make sure your math/science grades are as strong as you can get them to be, i know more than one engineer who can't spell 'miscellaneous' without using spell check.- Highway
