it's hard to say without looking at the program, you may want to look at an engineering discipline that will award an ABET accredited (engineering) degree if you are looking to work in industry.

you can probably switch to ChE and back to ECE again if you don't like it, so you should give it a try . . . talk to someone in ChE to see what they say about it. How are your grades in engineering so far?

not sure, but i imagine it can't be too bad if you have the app in already, but not the transcripts. mainly you may miss out on funding if they have already offered it to others, but i really can't say for sure.

stuff happens, it isn't the end of the world. i think an important lesson is learning how to do work using a computer to solve computational problems. in research, grad school, and the real world, being able to do this could prove to be a big deal, depending on what you end up doing.

i have no idea why he would recommend a masters in cs if you have only taken 1 compsci course . . . what do you want to do / study without worrying about the job market?

make sure your math/science grades are as strong as you can get them to be, i know more than one engineer who can't spell 'miscellaneous' without using spell check.
