Technical Analysis on Titan Sub (Titanic Sub)
Water from previous dives was pushed into voids in the carbon fiber at near 6,000 psi. Titan was often stored outside in freezing conditions. The water in the voids expanded with the force near 30,000 psi as it froze into ice. The 3500 pound "door" was hung on a hinge with less than 10...- HowlerMonkey

Chernobyl Did Chernobyl divers prevent a multi megaton explosion?
They were worried that a huge steam explosion could propel the already pulverized fuel debris further than the initial explosion. A 2% enriched fuel could never cause a nuclear explosion.- HowlerMonkey

The Nuclear Power Thread
Maybe the fact that rbmk reactors only require 2% refined uranium and could possibly manufacture plutonium on the cheap? A guess ...but super unlikely since there are much more efficient ways to manufacture weapons grade fuel. Being able to run a reactor on 2% enriched fuel is probably cheaper.- HowlerMonkey

The amount of power to produce enough light to project an image is beyond the batter capacity of a device the size of a cell phone. You would also have to deal with the heat.- HowlerMonkey

Why is my CPU usage so high when opening multiple web pages on Microsoft Edge?
It depends totally on the website in question. Some websites can hog 1.4 gigs of memory and near 100% processor with a single page depending on scripting and other stupid stuff. Some websites use your processor cycles to mine bitcoins or other distributed computing much like the old SETI...- HowlerMonkey

Automotive Decarbonizing an Engine with Water: Myth or Fact?
At toyota, a recall campaign has us reading the tops of the pistons for numbers to determine if they are part of the lot of "bad pistons" put into camry 4 cylinder engines. We use a BG product that smells identical to the product I pictured earlier in the thread. The problem is that almost...- HowlerMonkey
