PhD student in Floating Offshore wind turbines
Hi, I'm a little busy right now, trying to write up my thesis as quickly as possible. If you do want me to write something in the future, I'd need to know what the purpose of the articles is, that is what kind of public are you addressing. My work was very technical, and though I have some...- Jess1980

Pitch axis location of aerodynamic profiles of wind turbine blades
Thanks for answering. I did use a wind blowing system on the model wind turbine I was testing. It was an open jet blower type, so not a closed circuit. The fans however were provided by a company, I didn't have to design them (Sorry, it was not clear from your reply whether you thought that I...- Jess1980

Pitch axis location of aerodynamic profiles of wind turbine blades
Hi, thanks for answering. It seems coherent indeed that one would place the pitch axis in a way that no or very little moment is created on the blade by aligning it with the centre of lift (I suppose this is the same as the centre of pressure?). I suppose therefore that when designing a wind...- Jess1980

Pitch axis location of aerodynamic profiles of wind turbine blades
Summary:: How is the pitch axis location of an aerodynamic profile decided? Hi, I drew a wind turbine blade in a CAD software. I used information on the pitch axis location I had on the various aerodynamic profiles I used to draw the blade. I understand that it allowed me to align the various...- Jess1980

PhD student in Floating Offshore wind turbines
Hi, in case your reply was a question, here is some quick general info on this which I read at the beginning of my PhD (so it might not be 100 % accurate): Floating platforms get interesting when the water depth exceeds 50 m. For water more shallow than this, it's better to install bottom...- Jess1980

PhD student in Floating Offshore wind turbines
Hi, I'm doing a PhD on floating offshore wind turbines. I should be done with my PhD soon, but still need to write up quite a lot of theory and reports about experimental data.- Jess1980
