Graduate Thought experiment: Rising bubble in rigid container
The bubble would experience a larger pressure at the bottom than at its top so a larger force would be needed to keep the top from expanding than at the bottom. Wouldn't this create a net force downwards assuming the bubble is large enough that the difference in pressure is significant?- JimJim

Graduate Thought experiment: Rising bubble in rigid container
