A=Cueball start position
CP=Centre Point where balls collide
B=The pocketHey guys, I was asked this question that seems completely obvious but I keep second guessing myself over it, I have included a basic picture to explain what I’m about to describe
Say you were to take the above pool...
Sorry for the late reply, I would like to thank you all for the very informative responses.
My friend has read your replies and insists you are mistaken and had sent me 2 (badly drawn) diagrams proving he is correct lol I will add them below, he said in the first one the bricks go inside the...
Thought experiment.
Let's suppose I lay bricks around the entire Earth going up 50 miles in height. I am assuming this way there's going to be more bricks at the top than at the bottom right?

What If I was to get a football/soccer pitch (100meters in length and concreted with spirit...
My bad 🤦🏻
The question was proposed meaning the ball travels 20 feet from release, so can disregard the distance of the boys hand to the ground :)
Anyone able to offer an answer and short explanation so I can see where I went wrong
Thanks 🙏
Just tried again, 2.2 can’t be right...where am I going wrong hahaha
s = ut + ½at
s = 6m
u = 0
a = 9.81 m/s²
Rearrange gives:
s / ½g = t²
6/4.4 = 1.3²
Root = 1.1 s up
1.1 seconds down.
2.2 seconds
Thanks for the fast response 😃
Sorry if this is messy lol Here’s my workout out
As acceleration of the throw is not stated, I will assume it is 0.5m/s is shall name "a".
20 ft is 6 meters which shall be labeled "S"
I want to find time in seconds. I shall label "t"
Equation required:
S = ut...
