Connecting HDD Motors to Microcontrollers
How many wires? If there are four to six it is probably a pulse moter. If you do not know which wires to pulse when you will have to figure out by process of elimination. It is not that hard to do I used a dc power supply or battery, connecting the wires two at a time in a sequince that will...- jslade

Graduate Achieving Sonic Flow with Shop Compressors and Vortex Tubes
So I guess you answer your own questions around here. I posted on Engineering Tips forum and had 5 positive responses in 24 hours. Here is a very helpful responce I recieved. Yes, what you are doing is possible. For air, the critical pressure is around 60% so for your 120 psig system, as...- jslade

Graduate Achieving Sonic Flow with Shop Compressors and Vortex Tubes
I am wondering if I can use a shop air compressor (120psi) to achieve sonic flow? I am building a vortex tube (for spot cooling) and need a high velocity jet to form the vortex. What is the minimum pressure diff. required to achieve sonic flow of compressed air? Does varying the diameter of the...- jslade

Making a Supercharger for 4HP-100cc-2 Stroke Engine: Got Ideas?
You need an expansion chamber exhaust. It is truly magnificent invention. It consists of a convergant and divergent cone. The divergant cone causes a negative pressure on the exhaust sucking fuel/air mixture into the header. The convergant cone causes a positive pressure whith crams the fuel...- jslade
