Graduate Relative motion of C on C formula
The question is I posed for my essay to help show the parameters of relativity. By accurate I did not mean it was flawed and I don't appreciate the slight sense of sarcasm that seems to accompany most answers on this site. By accurate I simply meant could think of a form of an equation that...- k-hursh

Hypothetical Brain Teaser about Relative motion and the finite speed of light
The impossibility is what I was getting at I suppose, with the majority of the question. I was curious if anyone knew of a form of wavelength frequency( which is what these all are) where I can get a concrete number for the output. If one were to calculate the speed of a projectile then the...- k-hursh

Graduate Wouldn't traveling at the speed of light implode the universe
Well the release of energy photons is what is observed as "pure light" though the current state of electromagnetic energy we release is not far from visible light 400-750nm. Be careful though I said some stuff not nearly that radical and received a warning. It's like the Church of Science up in... -

Graduate Relative motion of C on C formula
I do not know if this will work, I will look into it, thank you. Hyperphysics seems to be pretty trusty right? Not to ask another question before I try your solution but just to firm things up, I am looking into a hypothetical question(which I know do not always have answers :) ). The question...- k-hursh

Graduate Relative motion of C on C formula
I need to prove the affect of relative motion on C if the velocity is C. The Relativistic Doppler Affect is not accurate correct? I am calculating only direct motion no adjustments for radial velocity etc. needed- k-hursh

Graduate Wouldn't traveling at the speed of light implode the universe
Hey how about we not stifle people when they ask questions, if you do not want to answer a question or find it to be useless, simply don't respond. With that said it is an interesting question. according to current physics theory, i.e. the big bang, the universe began as an infinitely small... -

Graduate Hypothetical spacecrafts traveling at light speed.
No mass has nothing to do with it and I hope Holocene understands it is only through relativity that you cannot break the speed barrier. In short light is always a constant speed and if you were driving forward and turn on your headlights they would come out, as they should. Clearly if you are...- k-hursh

Graduate Hypothetical spacecrafts traveling at light speed.
I think I may get what you are asking and there is purpose for exploration. It is not that nothing can go faster than the speed of light ( save things with mass) which light does not. It is that INFORMATION can not travel faster than light, usually making any discussion of this type a moot point...- k-hursh

Hypothetical Brain Teaser about Relative motion and the finite speed of light
I think it is important to remember that, I think, It is not that nothing can break the speed of light barrier. Rather that it is information that cannot travel faster than the speed of light. Which, I also think , makes breaking the speed barrier somewhat of a moot point seeing as they're is no...- k-hursh

Hypothetical Brain Teaser about Relative motion and the finite speed of light
So even by imparting a tremendous amount of relative speed upon light between 400 and 750 nm you could not change it from one "type" of light to another? It seems to me that the variation in appearance of the light from someone watching headlights drive away at C and someone watching headlights...- k-hursh

Hypothetical Brain Teaser about Relative motion and the finite speed of light
The essay question I have chosen for my assignment is the following: " If you are traveling in a car at the speed of light and you turn on your headlamps, will the light emitted illuminate the path in front of you?" I am not concerned with the car or its occupants in any...- k-hursh

Does the observed frequency approach infinity or does it become negative?
I chose to write an essay on the "interesting" question I stumbled upon For part of it I am trying to calculate the Doppler shift in light with the relative motion of C. I suppose in the effort to not drone on for days I will first limit it to small, more simple questions and later,if we...- k-hursh

Yes or no, Can you square root a zero
I am also eager for an answer to this question though it is for different reasons. Due to a poor choice in essay questions :) , I am trying to calculate the Doppler Shift in light if one were to be traveling in a car at the speed of light and turn on their headlights. This, I think, should be...- k-hursh
