Boiling Water using Heat vs. Vacuum
This is intuitively what I would expect to be correct. I expect it's a combination of the above. I can remember that when I was in the lab and observed the behaviour I asked the instructor about it, but he never had a good answer for it. Thanks for all the answers everyone.- KrisOhn

Boiling Water using Heat vs. Vacuum
I think Russ already answered my question, but I'm curious as to the result of yours. Are you implying that a submarine does not experience more pressure as it dives deeper?- KrisOhn

Boiling Water using Heat vs. Vacuum
If you bring a pot of water to boil, you will notice that the bubbles form on the bottom surface of the pot. This seems to make sense intuitively as this is the hottest surface, so this would be where the boiling action starts. When I was in school during a thermo lab we pulled a vacuum in a...- KrisOhn

Undergrad Head loss equaling head pressure?
Any ideas? Maybe a moderator could move this to a more appropriate forum if necessary? -
Undergrad Head loss equaling head pressure?
If you had a fluid in a pipe, with say, 10m of head pressure, what would happen when the head losses of the pipe equaled the head pressure? -

How do stacked fans affect airflow and pressure?
There is effectively 0 external resistance to airflow. The air is flowing cleanly through a pipe. What do you mean by PV? So realistically I'm looking at a small percentage increase in flow and a large percentage increase in pressure?- KrisOhn

How do stacked fans affect airflow and pressure?
I have two fans that I want to stack in series. They both have stationary fans on the downwind side of the blades to create optimal conditions for the next fan, they have been designed to stack. Am I correct in assuming that the two fans will only (ideally) double the pressure of the air, and...- KrisOhn

Do you really want a bigger smartphone?
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S3, which (I just measured) has roughly a 5" screen. When I first got it, I thought it was going to be very unwieldy and unfriendly to use, I was not looking forward to having a phone so big. Now that I've had the phone for 2 years, I would never go back to a...- KrisOhn

Android or iPhone: Which Do You Prefer?
I choose Android because I disagree with Apple's business choice of being as proprietary and, like the above poster said, having such a closed iOS ecosystem.- KrisOhn

PF Photography: Tips, Tricks, & Photo Sharing
Nice! I've noticed that this effect gives a similar effect to what a tilt-shift lens does, but there is something different, I can't quite place my finger on it though. I recommend that you download Microsoft ICE (Image Composite Editor) and combine them into a panorama that way, it's the best...- KrisOhn
