Theoretical physics book for a high school student?
That book is the textbook for MIT open course ware classical mechanics lectures. The OCW website let's you download the assignments which include references to the book, and it has solutions for the assigned problems too. Not sure if anything's changed, but that course was recorded in 1999 as a...- LizzzyBF

So You Want To Be A Physicist Discussion
Great article, just finished reading it. I'd definitely be interested in reading anything about what to do while still in high school. I know that I need to focus on physics and maths classes (not sure whether to do statistics as well as calculus next year though), and I have been reading some...- LizzzyBF

I'm in year twelve (in New Zealand, equivalent to 11th grade I think)
Yes, it's definitely more to do with maths. I don't have much trouble with the concepts in physics, just the problem solving. I had a physics test today, and it seems fairly easy, which either means that the work that we've been doing in class is harder than it needs to be (my teacher has been...- LizzzyBF

I'm in year twelve (in New Zealand, equivalent to 11th grade I think) and physics this year seems much harder than it was before. I usually got the equivalent of B's in physics last year, so I wasn't particularly great, and I want to get more A's this year (as eventually I want to be a...- LizzzyBF

Expanding and Simplifying Two Sets of Double Brackets (most likely really easy)
Homework Statement Expand and Simplify 6(x-1)(x+2)-(1-x)(2+x) Homework Equations The answer in the book is 7x^2+7x-14 The Attempt at a Solution I've tried several ways, but all of them give the wrong answer. I'm not sure what to do with the negative in the middle. I know it...- LizzzyBF
