Undergrad Why Is It Important to Understand Asymptotes in Math?
asymptotes simplified It's a simple concept, Try graphing 1/x as x -> 0. We never touch to the y-axis (i.e. x =zero). It is an undefined infinity, an asymptote. . IFF x were to = 0 then, there'd be no argument.- maggiomail

High School Does the Rate of Descent Affect Objects Burning Up in Earth's Atmosphere?
Objects burn up entering Earth's atmosphere. If we were to float high enough wouldn't the same thing happen? Or does` the rate of descent play a role?- maggiomail

High School Skydiving Balloon: Why Vacuum Isn't Used
Helium balloons explode if they go sufficiently high, presumedly from excess pressure? It can't be as simple as to install a pressure relief valve.. Wonder how big a part radiation and subzero temperatures would play, say, 300 miles up?- maggiomail
