Help with obtaining a specific pulse
Homework Statement Hi, I have a 1Hz pulse and wish to obtain a very short pulse at the low edge of the 1Hz pulse. The following is what I'm referring to: The Attempt at a Solution Since I cannot use a capacitor, I was thinking maybe something with flip flops but I'm still a bit...- malsch

Frequency Counter Design: Help with Latch Function & 7-Segment Display
yes but if you have a 1 hz clock, when using the NAND gate, the counter counts for 0.5 seconds (since half the pulse is low and half is logic high)- malsch

Frequency Counter Design: Help with Latch Function & 7-Segment Display
yes i am now going to replace the 555 with a 1Hz crystal. What i cannot understand is how to use the latch function. What do you mean by control pulses? Ex. 1Hz, 10Hz and 100Hz? And what would you achieve by inputing the 1Hz and the frequency signal in a NAND gate?- malsch

Frequency Counter Design: Help with Latch Function & 7-Segment Display
Homework Statement Hi, I need to design a simple frequency counter to measure the frequency of a square wave input (hence signal conditioning is not needed for now). I have understood the concept that the counter needs to count the input pulses for 1 second and display them on a 7-segment...- malsch

What are the energy changes in a spring oscillation?
Homework Statement I have to provide four energy changes taking place in the following diagram, where the spring is oscillating. The Attempt at a Solution I know there is elastic potential energy and kinetic energy involved but i would be happier to understand this more. thank you- malsch

How can I solve 4 equations with 4 unknowns?
thats ok hehe. i found the angle using tanh = b/a. now i am working with these formulas: C = acoshθ, G = bsinhθ, but how did you conclude to them? i know cosθ + sinθ = 1, and coshθ - sinhθ = 1- malsch

How can I solve 4 equations with 4 unknowns?
ok now i came up with: 4.5*10-7 = -G2 + 98,652.1C2 I was wondering how you can convert this to cos and sin. And by doing so, you would end up by an unknown angle, right?- malsch

How can I solve 4 equations with 4 unknowns?
now that i come to it, i am guessing i can do the following: Px2 + Qxy + Ry2 = S => (xA + yB)(xC + yD) = S and find the values of x and y simultaneausly- malsch

How can I solve 4 equations with 4 unknowns?
hi. thanks for your reply tiny-tim :) i didn't understand how you can get rid of the xy terms and end up with x2/a2 + y/b2 = C2. 10x again- malsch
