Undergrad Increase of mass and legth contracts with speed?
um... please stay on topic >.< i kinda figured that the speed of light is what it is relative to what the person is experiencing... say that they are traveling at the speed of light, then relative to them , the speed of light is the same, but to someone else who is sitting still, relative to...- Masest

Why do time, distance, and mass change in Einstein's theory of relativity?
well, our whole class is taking it apart and split it all into groups... we were chosen for those three... now that i think about the car, it doesn't quite make sense... but why does the length contract? i think i have figured out the space time thing, and i think i am grasping hold of the mass...- Masest

Space travel, mass increase, and length shorteneing
lol... it is fine... i think i am starting to get it... there are two mass types... one is relativistic, moving mass, and the invarient mass is resting mass... i think i found out the spave travel one... time slows down relative to you because your body adjusted to that speed, and that is going...- Masest

Undergrad Increase of mass and legth contracts with speed?
well, i got what dale was saying, but which mass is it that would be increasing? the relativistic mass or the invarient mass? i finally got the concept that there are two masses, but does it increase because the acceleration will stay the same, but it is going to take more force to push it...- Masest

Why do time, distance, and mass change in Einstein's theory of relativity?
Alright, i have a final and i have to explain just three parts to einstein's theory of relativity... they are space travel (time slowing nearing the speed of light), increase of mass with speed, and length contraction... the space travel makes no sense, and the mass one, i have mixed feelings...- Masest

Undergrad Increase of mass and legth contracts with speed?
So what you are saying is that Mass ir the rest mass? then what is the mass called when something is moving? i don't quite understand what you are trying to say- Masest

Calculating Car Acceleration on a 1.2 Meter Hill in 2 Seconds
wait... i have this nifty little equation you can use to calculate the acceleration with the final velocity... d=(vi)(t)+(1/2)(a)(t)^2 vi is the initial velocity, and that equals zero, so you can cut that out and use the d=(1/2)(a)(t)^2 and work the equation to equal a... that is all i am...- Masest

Undergrad Increase of mass and legth contracts with speed?
OK, i have a final coming up, and i need a little help... i need to know how and why an object moving faster acquires more mass... it doesn't make sense... mass is how much matter somethign has as far as i know, but when you speed up, you acquire more mass? this goes hand in hand with the length...- Masest
