I have two curves 1+m1*log(x) and 4.5+m2*log(x) [please see the attached picture]. I want to fit a third curve (which might of any equation), which should actually 'balance' the first two curves, so that the error is minimum. My problem is I am not able to get a initial reduced slope in the...
Thanks Stephen and others for the reply. Y is indeed a function of X. The only thing is X is in Log scale and Y is in linear scale. Yup am shooting for a nice formula, which will go through all the points. Since the horizontal axis is in Log scale , how it is going to affect the interpolated...
Hi all,
I want to fit a curve through 6 points (please see figure attached, the curve in the picture is a drawn one not a fitted one. That is just to give a feel how the fitted curve would look like.) in a log-linear plot. Is there any way I can do it? Thanks.
grad of curve is its normal ?
i read in a book grad(f)/|grad(f)| is the normal vector of the curve... but actually it should be the cross product of the binormal rite ?? .. how come the binormal is missing here as this expression will give only the tangent ! .. Help pleasezzz

principal axes for orthotropic material??
i am very much confused about the term 'Principal Axis'..my situation is I am not able to understand the following lines from a book
'.....Since it is difficult to determine the three principal axis of a specific
element to define the orthotropic...
i have got 3 questions...
What is material property orientation in orthotropic materials...in what way it differs from material distribution with respect to two or three planes?..and how does it affect the material behaviour?
