Non-Uniform Distribution of Charge on a Rod
Homework Statement A rod of length L lies along the x-axis with its left end at the origin. A total charge Q is distributed non-uniformly on the rod, so that ?=ax, where a is a positive constant. (a)Determine the constant a. (b) What is the potential due to this charged rod at a point along...- mouzis

Archived Entropy Change of an Ideal Gas
Homework Statement Using the expression for the entropy change of an ideal gas when the volume and temperature change and TV\gamma-1 = constant, show explicitly that the change in entropy is zero for a quasi-static adiabatic expansion from state V1T1 to state V2T2.Homework Equations TV\gamma-1...- mouzis

Thermodynamics of Helium using a P-V Diagram
When i use the relation B→C and solve for one of the unknown i find that Tc = 150Vc. I can't seem to perform the math correctly for the process from C→A using P1V1γ = P2V2γ. Thanks for the reply as well Simon.- mouzis

Thermodynamics of Helium using a P-V Diagram
Homework Statement Helium gas is initially at a pressure of 16 atm, a volume of 1L, and a temperature of 600K. It is expanded isothermally until its volume is 4L and then compressed at constant pressure until its volume and temperature are such that an adiabatic compression will return the gas...- mouzis
