Does mylar provide a secure seal?

Thanks, I'll look into this too.

Does mylar provide a secure seal?

Yup i think it's permeability. Just read this: "Mylar® polyester film is virtually impermeable to the liquid phase of most chemicals and reagents." From here: http://usa.dupontteijinfilms.com/informationcenter/downloads/Chemical_Properties.pdf "If you use aluminized Mylar, the helium stays in...

Does mylar provide a secure seal?

Btw, what is the official scientific word used to describe what I'm trying to get at? Permeability?

Does mylar provide a secure seal?

Used for helium. Helium known for being leaky. Nice. That's what i was looking for. Thanks Danger. It's not going to be used in any abnormal pressured environments. Just hot environments. I could also double up on the layers too.

Does mylar provide a secure seal?

So...aluminized. Does that mean the seal is going to be good?

Does mylar provide a secure seal?

I'm using mylar pouches to seal phase change cooling liquid to experiment with cooling in athletic apparel. This is an example of the type of 'phase change' liquid I am trying to seal...

Can i paint PVC Nitrile rubber? with plasti-dip? toxic?

The forcefield rubber pads are pretty flexible. The latex paint sounds pretty interesting. From photos, it looks like that's the paint they use to paint directly onto skin for movie costumes and stuff. So it must be pretty innocuous then. If it's supposed to bend with the skin, it should be...

Can i paint PVC Nitrile rubber? with plasti-dip? toxic?

Covering it with fabric would block the airflow of that specific product. I'm using it in a mesh jacket so the idea is to maximize the amount of airflow. The mesh weave on my black jacket is really looose, so you can see all the yellowness of the pads under the jacket. Which is why i want to...

Can i paint PVC Nitrile rubber? with plasti-dip? toxic?

Here's what I'm trying to paint: http://www.forcefieldbodyarmour.com/product/net-upgrade-armour-flat/2418 I'm trying to paint this black. Can i paint these yellow pads with some sort of non toxic spray paint? Or what about plastidip (which i think is nontoxic). I was even thinking of using a...

What is the coldest freezer pack material that can stay soft?

Btw, does anyone know a way to make a super cold freezer (below -80 C). All those types of freezers are very expensive. I want to experiment with this concept to see if i could extend the cooling period of these pads. Maybe the coolant can be positioned on the pad in way so that it doesn't come...

What is the coldest freezer pack material that can stay soft?

I'm open to any ideas on oil and phase change materials you might have. I think technically a lot of the phase change materials being sold are flammable. Ideally, i'd prefer if they weren't. The concept is to make protective sports padding (action sports, football, etc) that also doubles as...

What is the coldest freezer pack material that can stay soft?

Glycerin is pretty much a nontoxic antifreeze from what I've researched. As far as oils go, I've tried coconut oil and it just goes rock solid very fast. Any other oil recommendations? This can't be easily flammable too, I've tested some 'phase change packs' and they work pretty well actually...

What is the coldest freezer pack material that can stay soft?

Hello, I'm trying to create the coldest freezer pack that is still soft and pliable. (Or will at least soften up within 10 minutes). It should also ideally stay cold for as long as possible. I've experimented with a few options so far and Water + Glycerin seems pretty good. If you add just a...
