    MHB Quadratic and logarithmic models (new post)

    Thanks mark! Analysis: This activity requires you to write a report to the internet provider including: (i) a recommendation of an appropriate new pricing pack for medium users to replace the quest pack. (ii) an analysis of the effort on the cost to the customer of removing the "included...

    MHB Quadratic and logarithmic models (new post)

    ok.. so I've got new answers. is this correct? Quadratic formula cost = a*(gig)² + b 20 = a*(0)² + b ----> b=20. 60 = a*(60)² + b. b=20, a = 40/(60²) = 1/90. cost = (gig²)/90 + 20. Logarithmic formula: 30 = a + b*LN(0 + 1), a = 30. 60 = a + b*LN(60 + 1) a=30 b= 30/LN(61) = approx 7.298

    MHB Quadratic and logarithmic models (new post)

    Here is my previous post! please look at pages 3 - 4 to see what I am talking about. http://mathhelpboards.com/pre-algebra-algebra-2/mathematical-modeling-6006-4.html I figured out how to input the quadratic and logarithmic equations into wolfram, this is what i got. Let me know if its correct...

    How do I accurately model and calculate costs for different data plans?

    ohhh ok. I appreciate all of the help I am getting, thanks guys. I am actually done with this topic, i just want to know everything exactly how it is. Thank you! How would i put that into wolfram for the graph? and how would i do it without the included gigabytes, and the graph for that one?

    How do I accurately model and calculate costs for different data plans?

    (quadratic model): f(x)=ax2+b we obtain the 2X2 linear system: where: f(20)=a(20)2+b=400a+b=20 f(60)=a(60)2+b=3600a+b=60 Logarithmic model: f(x) = a + b Ln(x) where: f(25) = a + b (25)Ln = 30 f(60) = a + b (60)Ln =60answer: quadratic model: f(60)=60, 3600a+(20-400a)=60, 3200a=40 and...

    How do I accurately model and calculate costs for different data plans?

    Yeah, sure i can do that no problem! an internet provider is reviewing its monthly broadband usage packs, currently, customers can choose one of the three following options: CURRENT PACKS: appetizer : monthly access fee \$7, included gigabyte 10, cost per additional gigabyte \$2 quest...

    How do I accurately model and calculate costs for different data plans?

    ugggh. i just saw that i have to model the effects to the customer of removing the "included gigabytes usage". i guess it means for these including the logarithmic and quadratic functions... how do i do what the question is asking me?

    why is logarithmic model pretty much staying the same... they're both supposed to go up by 50 cents, same amount. im confused

    MHB Are my answers correct? Quadratic and logarithmic modeling

    Answers: 1) f(x) = 0.5x^2 + 20 2) f(x)=30+0.72[ln(x+1)1) f(x)=ax2+b f(0)=a(0)2+b=b=20 f(1)=a(1)2+b=a+b=20.5 => a = 20.5 - 20 = 0.5 so, f(x)=ax2+b f(x) = 0.5x^2 + 20 2) f(x)=a+bln(x+1) f(0)=a+bln(0+1)=a=30 f(1)=a+bln(1+1)=a+bln(2)=30.5 =>b = (30.5-30) / lin(2) = 0.7213475204, so...
