Asking for a woman's Facebook account instead of number.

As a female myself, IMO that would be really weird if a guy just asked for my facebook link. You don't even have to ask people for it, you just search for them.. :P Definitely don't do this, heh.

Claim AP cred. for first year physics?

Well maybe I should rephrase my initial question to ask if I'm going into EE, would retaking the mechanics course really be that beneficial to me as far as being prepared down the road for more difficult EE related courses. As for this last bit, I think he was referring more to the general...

Claim AP cred. for first year physics?

I doubt then that that would be apart of the curriculum until sometime later if that's true. The only other physics course I am required to take is a modern physics for engineers during fourth semester with a differential equations class.

Claim AP cred. for first year physics?

And as far as multivariable goes, I'm assuming since I don't know what it is I didn't do it. lol Is this something that comes into play during the second semester of uni calc? Because that is what I'll be taking if I do end up taking E&M.

Claim AP cred. for first year physics?

Here's the problem I keep running into: first year profs suck and make things unnecessarily difficult. I asked a [now] sophomore at my uni. what he thought and he said: "I would claim as much AP credit as you can. I also thought retaking the Physics classes would be a good idea, but they...

Claim AP cred. for first year physics?

I'm going to start college in the fall for EE and I made a 5 on my mechanics AP test and a 4 on my E&M AP test. I've been told that these are two weeder classes at my university and while I am confident I could make an A in both with hard work, I'm starting to think it might be smart to save...

What are the challenges faced by female engineering students?

As one of two girls in the entire school taking AP physics C this past year, I faced probably - actually, most definitely - what would be considered sexual harassment from some of my male peers. I probably should have stuck up for myself more, but I knew that in most cases they were just...

Is architecture the right path for me?

That's what everyone asks but I can honestly say it does interest me personally. My dad even gave me three choices! Doctor, lawyer, or engineer. Haha. He was kidding but I've always liked science and math pretty well and I ended up loving my intro physics class so I've decided it's a good route...

Are your relatives engineers or scientists

My dad is a EE and I will be too in a couple of years. He's the only one in my close family that is an engineer. My brother with probably go into the medical field but he still has quite a few years to figure that stuff out for himself. I live in an area where if feels like everyone is a...

Is architecture the right path for me?

Definitely stick with the EE. A degree with EE is worth much more than one in architecture. In my opinion architecture is not a good choice - especially since you're actually graduating with a EE degree. (I can't tell you from personal experience - yet - because I'm actually just about to...

Engineering Am I cut out to be an engineer?

That's BS. My dad's petrochem company hires their engineers from a variety of schools - most of which are not Ivies. As long as you can survive to graduate with a engr. degree, hold a pretty good GPA and have some work experience (co op, etc.), you're very likely to get a really good job. I'm...

How to avoid getting burned out

I'm pretty sure I know the difference between material I've already learned previously and material I've never learned before. I'm not that stupid. If it was really all that easy because there was no new material I wouldn't be having a problem, would I? Regardless, I didn't make this thread...

How to avoid getting burned out

I'm taking three college level courses, calc, physics and chem (which are the harder classes first year at my college) and do about 3-5 hours of homework/studying every night (this of coure takes me from about 6-11 because there's no way I can do all of that in one sitting.) Trust me, I'm not...

How to avoid getting burned out

I have one semester left of high school then I'm off to college for EE. Unlike most of my peers, I actually chose difficult classes this year in order to prepare for next year. The problem is that I kind of feel like I'm getting burned out. I already know how taxing it is to be so completely...

Engineering Which engineering degree will be highly sought after in the future?

My dad said that power engineers would be needed in the future (he's a power EE working for one of the big petrochemical companies.) Of course you'd have to do some research but it may be something to look into. :)
