Viscous Drag on a spinning shaft
Okay. You haven't considered the effect of pressure in the viscous drag. Wont 30 bar pressure create some effect?- nradam

Viscous Drag on a spinning shaft
http://www.iocl.com/downloads/servo_Transclean_C4_SAE_30.pdf The viscosity of the oil is given in that documentation. It varies with temperature, but i don't know whether it will vary with shear rate. The length of shaft is 120mm (inside fluid column). You can neglect viscous heating because...- nradam

Viscous Drag on a spinning shaft
I am designing a test rig for my company to test seals. What i have is a shaft spinning in a fluid column that is pressurized to 30 bar. The shaft is spun by a motor and i am currently trying to figure out what motor i should select. The fluid is a C4 SAE 30 Oil, quite viscous actually. My...- nradam

System Of Trigonometric Equations
a*sin(x)=b*sin(th)+c*sin(y) d+a*cos(x)=b*cos(th)+c*cos(y) Find x and y if all others are constants. I don't get how to solve this system of trigonometric equations in matlab. Please help me out friends. Thanks in advance.- nradam

MATLAB Solving Freudensteins Equation for Four-Bar Linkage in Matlab
I was making a code for creating four-bar linkage in matlab. So somewhere in between i had to solve the 'freudensteins equation'. I have all the link lengths and two angles of links known, and i have two equations and two variables (the other two angle of links) to find. So here are the...- nradam

IIT Student Asks: What CAD Software Should I Use?
I am a sophomore student in Indian Institute Of Technology, doing mechanical engineering (Just introducing myself as this is my first post in this super-mesmerizing website) Well, we haven't yet started any CAD courses in college, and i will have to bunk a few classes tomorrow to attend a...- nradam

Starting out with microcontrollers
Can you recommend an ebook to start out with microcontrollers. I am a first year mechanical engineering student and i have no idea about electronics (We only learned electricals in high school). So do i need to learn anything as a prerequisite before i learn microcontrollers?- nradam
