Undergrad Diamagnetic Levitation: How to Levitate a Worm and Other Experiment Ideas
So I want to levitate...(drum roll please)...A REALLY SMALL WORM! First off, I read that the downward pull on the worm will be gr (gravity times density), so then how would I calculate how powerful my magnet would have to be to balance this force? So that's the mathematical part...- ObsoleteBacon

I heard that graphite works as well (I think it was graphite), would a small piece of wood work well?- ObsoleteBacon

Going back to the diamagnetic talking... Can someone tell me how much force a magnet would need to have to lift a frog or something with about that much mass?- ObsoleteBacon

High School Understanding Tangents in Analytic Geometry
Thank you for the answer it helped a lot. I wasnt sure whether it was telling me to use the first or second way, but now i know its the trigonometric way (i think i spelled that right)- ObsoleteBacon

High School Understanding Tangents in Analytic Geometry
Okay so I am reading a book on analytic geometry because my algebra class is starting to really bore me, and I ran across this: slope = m = -1/2 (easy enouph) but then it states "since the slope is the tangent of the angle of inclination θ, we have: tan θ = -1/2 okay so I guess my...- ObsoleteBacon

High School How Can You Create a Unique Quantum Mechanics Science Fair Project?
I understand how it works...but I am trying to think of some variables to use becuase we have to use the scientific process :/ So far all I have thought of is using different mediums between the laser and the slits, or maybe perform the experiement at different speeds- ObsoleteBacon

High School How Can You Create a Unique Quantum Mechanics Science Fair Project?
First off, I didnt know where to put this so I just stuck in where I though it seemed to go best (i didnt really want to put it in the homework section). Here's my problem: My teacher is making us (my 8th grade class) do individual science fair projects and compete them at the regional...- ObsoleteBacon

Schools Question about mathematics and ivy league schools
@ eri: What do you mean by "you need a lot more" do you mean you need a lot more than the math I am planning to take, or you need a lot more as in things that make you stand out- ObsoleteBacon
