Why Do Acids Donate Protons and Not Electrons?
Acids do not have to be positively charged. It is kind of relative. H2O+ ?!? Chlorine gives hydrogen its proton? I think you mean the chlorine ION (Cl-) donates e- to the hydrogen ION (H+) to form HCl. H3O+ is positive because oxygen at a its most stable non-charged state has 2 free... -

Synthesis of proteins in Euk. cells
lol have you taken general biology? mRNA is transcribed from DNA, which is in the nucleus lol. it's then exported through nuclear pores to be translated into proteins. the nucleolus is in the nucleus and it's primary purpose is to make ribosomes. the actual process from gene to ribosome is...- Ostonzi

Is organic chemistry really necessary for molecular bio research?
Lol this is old, but I was creeping your threads and posting in them so... Take a super basic example like the ring formation of simple sugars like glucose. Without organic chemistry, you would have to take this on faith. On the other hand, with ochem, the structure of linear glucose...- Ostonzi

Would learning PDEs also allow one to deal with ODEs?
Would this be enough Fourier analysis? http://www.math.umn.edu/~olver/pdn.html- Ostonzi

Would learning PDEs also allow one to deal with ODEs?
i heard PF has good academic advice. CC is useless. what about for biomedical engineering? would i require more math like dynamics and chaos/fourier analysis/PDEs?- Ostonzi

Do you still find popular science books to be enlightening?
Lol to me, popsci books either 1. Talk about speculative pseudo-science and the "future". 2. Attempt to convince you of the "legitness" of well-accepted science like evolution, as if you should be in serious doubt.- Ostonzi

Would learning PDEs also allow one to deal with ODEs?
Are PDEs or ODEs more useful? Especially in biochemistry/molecular biology. Would learning PDEs also allow one to deal with ODEs?- Ostonzi

Question about what math to take.
Well the prereqs for these classes are only linear algebra/differential equations and multivariable calculus which would be fulfilled. Some of these require sequences, series, and foundations though. I crossed off ones that I don't feel all that interested in.- Ostonzi

Question about what math to take.
For biotech/biochem/biology? Or something just really interesting to take. Next year I can take 2 of these. Fourier Analysis Fourier series, integral/transform. Convergence. Fourier series, transform in complex form. Solution of wave, heat, Laplace equations by separation of variables...- Ostonzi
