    Cauchy Momentum Equation Derivation

From "Cauchy Momentum Equation" on Wikipedia, The main step (not done above) in deriving this equation is establishing that the derivative of the stress tensor is one of the forces that constitutes Fi This is exactly what I am having trouble grasping. It's probably something simple and...

Understanding Phasor Analysis in RC Circuits

I understand that the voltage phasor for a resistor is in phase with the current phasor in a simple ac circuit consisting of only an AC voltage source and the resistor. I understand that the voltage phasor for a capacitor is pi/2 radians behind the current phasor for an AC circuit consisting...

Field Transformations work forwards but not backwards?

Sorry for not posting calculations. I just read the next section and it addressed my concern. My reasoning was not wrong. The problem is that I was using the Galilean transformation equations, which I did not know we're based on the approximation v^2/c^2 = 0. Thanks everyone for helping.

Field Transformations work forwards but not backwards?

I got the right answer for this example problem going from reference frame A to B but when I use those fields to go back from B to A I don't get the same magnetic field I started with. Do field transformations only work one way? Surely not? I don't see how forces could be the same if this...

Work done accelerating up a hill

Ok now I get it. All the extra work he does contributes to a higher kinetic energy. Thank you very much.

Work done accelerating up a hill

Alright so I have a question on the work done with constant acceleration up a hill. I was working an example problem that asked for the work a hiker must do on a 15.0 kg backback to carry it up a hill of height h = 10.0m with the hiker keeping a constant velocity...
