Force that causes ions to move to a lower concentration
Apologies if this question may come off as simple to some of you and/or its posted in the wrong thread (i'm not sure if its better on the chemistry or physics forum) but i was curious, i'm currently doing neuron work and it involves the diffusion of K+ and Na+ ions one part that made me ask this...- PhysicsInterest

Is there a greater answer for naming D-Block elements the way they do?
Ok so I’m going into my second year of college and I’m starting to learn more advanced chemistry (pray for me🙏) I’m currently on the topic of D-Block elements and I was already aware of electron configurations and how to write them out… however what I have never come across prior was the use of...- PhysicsInterest

The Miraculous Properties of Water
What about water makes it such a great substance? I'm aware of properties like a high SHC providing aquatic habitats with stability, being a liquid at room temperature due to Hydrogen bonding and etc but what about water makes it so great why is it such a miracle substance, solely because of the...- PhysicsInterest

Why Can't Tertiary Alcohols Be Oxidized?
Ahhhhhhhhh so it’s just the presence of a C-H bond which allows oxidation to occur obviously in tertiary the OH group is attached to a carbon bonded to 3 other carbons, ok ok thank you- PhysicsInterest

Why Can't Tertiary Alcohols Be Oxidized?
I’m still a relative newbie to chemistry so if this question is very simple to answer I apologise….. but what prevents the oxidation of a tertiary alcohol cause you can form an aldehyde and carboxylic acid from a primary alcohol and a ketone from a secondary but what is it that prevents a...- PhysicsInterest

Is there a way to use the hydrogen in the human body?
I absolutely love this question😂 but I don’t think it would be possible in our lifetime or receive enough research into, if we did find a way what would the benefits be?? And even more so what would the negative effects be?- PhysicsInterest

Uncovering Your Passion for Chemistry: What Drives You?
So it’s not so much a question solely based around chemistry as a subject it’s more about you. The individual reading this. I want to know why you have such a great interest for chemistry. Is it just something you find fun?, is it the deeper understanding of the universe you enjoy?, is it the...- PhysicsInterest
