Can you beat Roulette using maths?
I came up with a system that I believe allows one to win at roulette in the long run but I'm not 100% sure that it's valid (I haven't tested it in practice) and I want to share the basic idea here and see if any of you guys can tell me why it is wrong or if there is anything to it. To...- PlayingMonk

Is Consciousness Simple or Complex?
Why would you "wake up" in either location? If the machine destroys you then doesn't that end your consciousness? I think both of the copies will think they are you and have all your memories up to that point but I don't see how your consciousness would continue in either one.- PlayingMonk

Should I take a semester off to
I don't know if this applies to you or not but one thing I'd suggest is to make sure you won't have to start paying back student loans if you take a semester off.- PlayingMonk

Is it possible for all truths to be known?
disregardthat, do you believe there is such a thing as objective truths? Or do you think things can only be true to people? I'm having trouble understanding your objections.- PlayingMonk

Is an Undergraduate in Physics Considered a Physicist?
Those phrases all sound kind of weird to me. Personally, I'd just say he majored in physics.- PlayingMonk

TV shows from the past you'd rather not watch again
I'd say Full House is the perfect example for me. I used to love watching it when I was little but now when I see it it just seems painfully bad.- PlayingMonk

Graduate I need input, I invented a number system
Can't the base 10 system we commonly use relay an infinite amount of information already? There's no limit to how many digits a number can have. I don't understand where the alleged limitations lie.- PlayingMonk

Using an instructor's solutions manual considered cheating?
I don't think it's cheating. I don't really see how your professor can stop you from purchasing it if it's a product on the market. I think it's a good thing to be able to make sure your answers are correct just so you don't go on thinking something you did wrong was right. You don't learn...- PlayingMonk

I need advice on where I should go
Thanks for the encouragement. Yeah, that's not really the name of the school I just kept it anonymous because I was saying relatively bad things about it and I didn't want to publicly bash a school. Especially when I'm not entirely sure I know what I'm talking about. I'll PM you the name of the...- PlayingMonk

I need advice on where I should go
Hello Jack, I do understand the importance of having a good understanding of the material, and I should clarify that I have gotten A's in courses such as Calculus I and Calculus II. When it comes to my major I try not to mess around and I am not intending to be a C student when it comes to...- PlayingMonk

I need advice on where I should go
Hi, I'm an undergraduate math major who needs some advice. I've been going to a local community college for the past 4 years and am just now getting enough credits for my associates. Now, I'm looking to transfer but I'm not really sure what I should do. You see, my GPA is laughably low (2.6...- PlayingMonk

Guys would you wear Ed Hardy or Affliction clothing?
Wow, I doubt I'd wear those clothes even if I got them for free, and there's no way I'd spend over $50 on them.- PlayingMonk

Is there evidence for the sentience of plants?
I've always thought that if plants were sentient they would just be bored to death all the time. Luckily for plants I don't believe they really are. :)- PlayingMonk
