Undergrad Is there a way to calculate consonance/dissonance?
Let me ask this differently, if I know my primary fundamental/primary octave/frequency, says its 200. How can I find frequencies that are dissonant? Do I have to scale through and just find them by ear? Sorry for the confusion I am a bit new to all this.- Qaiphyx

Undergrad Is there a way to calculate consonance/dissonance?
I don't understand chords well for the most part etc, but frequencies/ratios I understand. Isn't there a set way to calculate these two things utilizing ratios?- Qaiphyx

High School Can someone please explain chords / music / frequency to me
I understand octaves, like 100 hz, the first octave is 25, second, 50, and 100 the third octave. How can I relate all this to chords? I have been reading all this music lingo and can't correspond any of it to frequencies, and a lot of the ideas from now today don't match up with the past etc...- Qaiphyx

Undergrad Calculating the frequency of an open end pipe?
How can this be done. I know it has to do with the length, but what about the width? Does that have any bearing?- Qaiphyx

Undergrad Helmholtz resonator equation. How do I do this? Please help.
Just to be sure, the speed of sound need to be converted to the same units that I am using for the resonator correct? In this case, centimeters- Qaiphyx

Undergrad Helmholtz resonator equation. How do I do this? Please help.
So basically if what I have come up with is 9cm will give 120herts and 4.5 will give 60hertz.- Qaiphyx

Ok I did 240 hertz instead, so an octave lower, and got 1033.4 that looks a bit better.- Qaiphyx
