High School How can I launch a rocket from 200 feet away?
Could it simply be the car batteries running out of juice?- Raap

Does this change with the light's wavelength? I.e., will gamma rays travel through water faster than visible light?- Raap

High School Running Before Jumping - What's the Explanation?
Do you truly jump higher when running, though? I mean, obviously you'll have trouble jumping hurdles from a stand-still, but that's because you can't just jump straight up. However, say you were to catch something high up in the air, wouldn't you be better served standing still and jumping... -

Graduate Antimatter excotic particle or another reality?
Is it known if matter attracts antimatter( and vice versa ) via gravity? From what I could find googling it, there was no actual experimental evidence of this.- Raap

High School Did Galileo Really Drop Balls from the Leaning Tower of Pisa?
But considering air resistance, shouldn't the cannonball in Galileo's story reach the ground first? Did they modify the story or wasn't it noticeable? -

Graduate Can magnetic field expand faster than light?
So in short, the magnet would bounce off the field when it reached it, even if the generator was turned off.- Raap

Undergrad Any arguments for time travel back in time (the past)?
Travelling to the past is simple; just move all particles back to the way they were at the time you want to be.- Raap

Graduate Where Does the Energy in Gravitational Attraction Come From?
As you said, it's basically 'potential energy'. Not sure we actually know or understand so much more than that about it, maybe someone more knowledgeable have an idea. Speculation on where it came from originally: I suppose it would have to be created during the big bang, since at that stage... -

Undergrad How does a photon actually carry an image
Wouldn't it be sort of beneficial, though? I mean, if we were to genetically modify ourselves so that we could see heat radiation or even gamma rays, we wouldn't even devices like geiger counters and such. Though I suppose it would perhaps become very distracting considering all the stuff that... -

Undergrad How does a photon actually carry an image
I realize that, but all those goggles do is transforming those 'other' colors to colors *we* can see, right? I.e. we're still not seeing the actual colors. -

Undergrad How does a photon actually carry an image
Would it be possible to physically alter the eyes/brain so that we could observe higher/lower frequencies of light which in turn would allow us to discover new colors? -

High School Are there commercially bought materials to make a laser?
Is it probable that damage-lasers will become part of regular warfare in the future? Or do they require too much power for low amounts of damage compared to bombs, grenades and projectile weapons? -

Graduate Is Time Travel Physically Possible? Professional Advice
I realize you don't notice the dilation in your own time, but let me try an example so I can see where my understanding is wrong. If you're in a spaceship doing 99% lightspeed for 1 second ( earth-observer time ), you, as a passenger in the ship, will only register a fraction of that time(...- Raap

Graduate Is Time Travel Physically Possible? Professional Advice
Well, maybe it would, I just feel it's sort of misleading. I'd rather we kept the term 'time' as a global constant, i.e. always from the observer's pov, instead of making it a local variable. Maybe just renaming it to something which doesn't include the word 'time'? *shrug* I don't follow...- Raap
