Schools Math research as a high school student

I study and learn math independently but I was wondering if there was some kind of math research that I could do. I'm no where near a genius but I would like to take a shot. Obviously my math background is limited so this might be a stupid question all together. A big reason why I'm asking is...

Will Skipping Trig Substitution in High School Affect College Math and Physics?

Thanks for all the replies guys. I have done a few problems of trig sub, but Ican't say that I fully learned it. I remember doing something very similar in physics when integrating the biot savart law\equation. I think I will skip it for now, but if I ever feel I need it, I'll learn it on the fly.

Will Skipping Trig Substitution in High School Affect College Math and Physics?

    I hope so. Thank you. Also, I don't think I was implying that I am a calculus whiz ha-ha; I don't think I am.

Will Skipping Trig Substitution in High School Affect College Math and Physics?

Hi, I'm currently taking ap calc bc as a senior in high school. Since trig sub and power reduction formula is not apart of the ap curriculum our class is skipping it. Assuming I pass the test and get credit for it, I will probably skip calc 2 in college. If I continue to study math and physics...

Insights Understanding the General Relativity view of gravity on Earth - Comments

sorry i still don't get it. I understand that the north latitude line is turning in a circular path, but it's not really turning towards the north pole just towards the axis of the north pole. and the same with the south latitude line, and arent the north and south pole on the same axis? so...

    Violation of Newton's third law

You could have the same situation in air if that helps you intuitively. Air does exert a force just not very big.

Electricity and Magnetism RC Circuit Conceptual Questions

Yeah the current is the same through the whole circuit. But just to make sure an individual electron would not make a complete loop because it can't jump across the plate, right? I just like to know the details of things, i hate it when my teachers dumb down explanations to make them easier to...

Electricity and Magnetism RC Circuit Conceptual Questions

Omg thank you so much that makes sense now. I though the charge was making a complete loop. I don't know why and videos I saw didn't talk about this. I knew it was something simple.

Electricity and Magnetism RC Circuit Conceptual Questions

Okay thank you. But why does the net charge stay stationary, what makes it not complete the loop all the way to the battery? Why does it stay on the capacitor? Also what's the difference between a capacitor in a circuit and an open circuit? Isn't an rc circuit an open circuit? so why does it...

Electricity and Magnetism RC Circuit Conceptual Questions

Edit: sorry i realized i posted this in the wrong section. Can some move it to hw? Thank you. Hey i was s[SIZE=16px]tudying intro E&M recently and i started learning about RC circuits. Up until this point everything, concept wise, has made sense for me. Then I learned how RC circuits work, and...
