A question about Stewart's calculus -- Contains answers to odd numbered questions?
Thank you all for your replies. I've ordered the book mentioned in my initial post today. I decided that since I'm going to spend a lot of time with this book, I may as well have a new most recent version. As long as I have answers to some problems, I can test my understanding. I'll be back here...- Rhapsody83

A question about Stewart's calculus -- Contains answers to odd numbered questions?
Please ignore this post (or if you're a mod, feel free to delete it). I just saw a look inside on Amazon (sure this was not there when I looked on my phone) and solutions are mentioned in the TOC.- Rhapsody83

A question about Stewart's calculus -- Contains answers to odd numbered questions?
TL;DR Summary: Does the book linked in the post contain answers to odd numbered questions at the back of the book? I'm considering buying the following book by James Stewart: Calculus: Early Transcendentals, Metric Edition. I asked ChatGPT and it said that most of Stewart's books have answers...- Rhapsody83

I think I fully understand what is going on now and PeroK's formula, which is obvious when you see it, makes it even clearer.- Rhapsody83

High School Are Both Answers Correct for Trigonometric Substitution Integral?
Thanks for this, I was very confused, but it makes sense now. Am I right in thinking that one that is not divided by two is the preferred one as it is a little simpler?- Rhapsody83

High School Are Both Answers Correct for Trigonometric Substitution Integral?
Last night I tried to calculate from an automatically generated Wolfram Alpha problem set: $$\int{\frac{1}{\sqrt{x^2+4}}}dx$$ I answered $$\ln({\frac{\sqrt{x^2+4}}{2}+\frac{x}{2}})+C$$ The answer sheet gave: $$\ln({\sqrt{x^2+4}+x})+C$$ I couldn't see where I had gone wrong, so I tried...- Rhapsody83

LaTeX LaTeX Help for Newbies - Solve Equation Rendering Issue
I'm new here and have never used LaTeX before, so excuse my ignorance. I looked up how to include equations in a post and found this link. I cannot get equations to render when clicking preview. I tried copying and pasting this: $$x = \frac {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 -4ac}} {2a},$$ but it stays as raw...- Rhapsody83
