I'm in a similar situation too, and trying to get my head around the language. A book I have found useful is 'Thinking in C++' by Bruce Eckel. There is a free electronic version of this online. Good luck, and persevere!

I like maths, and the rules usually make sense. However I forget the rules quickly, and if I do the same maths problem 3 times I tend to get 3 different answers. My solution? Do any maths problem at least 3 times :)
