    Astrophysics - Hour angle calculation

What would be the next step? Really sorry but I struggle quite heavily with these sorts of questions.

    Centripetal acceleration formula

Good effort though! You have omega, the formula you want to be using is a = w^2 r substituting w = v/r into the original formula you have.

    Astrophysics - Hour angle calculation

I see. So in the calculation, the LST will be 5 hours 27 minutes. Then the right ascension being 18 hours. 5h 27 m - 18h = 12h 33 minutes, correct?

Rotating 15 degrees, but how does that affect the LST. Does it mean it becomes 7h 27m?

    Astrophysics - Hour angle calculation

Thank you for your reply. I am not entirely certain about how exactly to take into account the 1 hour time difference between 00:00 and 23:00.

Solving for FBa: Why 59N and Not 50.6j + 8.43k?

I believe it is the fact that when you use the dot product with two vectors, you end up with a scalar value or along that principle but not entirely certain. The calculation a.b = mag a x mag b x cos ab, so no vectors involved.

    Astrophysics - Hour angle calculation

Homework Statement At midnight (local time) on Dec 21st 2015, the Local Sidereal Time at Palomar Observatory, California, was 6h 27m. Palomar Observatory has latitude 33◦ 210 2100 N, and longitude 116deg 51arcmin 60arcsecW. a) What was the approximate Local Hour Angle of the Sun at 23:00 local...
