Why are so many starships built with submarine-like interiors, cramped and claustrophobic, with dim lighting and shadows everywhere? Sounds like a recipe for psychiatric problems on a long term voyage. Love the old NCC 1701, with its huge hallways and bright primary colors. That's a happy ship.
