What is our solar systems galactic position and/or spin?
Or, if our solar system is like a spinning disk - what direction is it turning relative to the disk like rotation of the Milky Way? Is the solar system rotating along a similar axis as the whole galaxy or, is it rolling like a wheel of...
A fellow Satriani fan I see, cool!
Okay, thanks for the response. Only thing is -it's not a candle. Note around frame no.0:34 the text states that it's a piece of burning wood.
I think I still understand how you explained it tho:smile:
Thanks
Ok. I think I understand that. But it sure is weird. What would cause steel, or say I make it from diamonds, to loose it's rigidness?
Let's say I change from a rod to a long string on a pulley at both ends. Would the same rules apply?
When I say 'long end' I mean the opposite end from the laser.
I'm imagining the rod is 1 light minute in length and would only move about a quarter of an inch.
Still, your answer is much removed from what I was thinking. I imagined the rod would move all at once but, you say it would move...
Hello, I've been watching some videos on youtube of people putting a lit flame into a microwave oven. After a few seconds the flame bursts into a bright ball of plasma, why is this?
Is there anywhere online that I can research the science that causes this...
This is quite intriguing, please tell me if the following would be correct:
I have a laser pointer with a mechanical switch/lever attached to a rod that is exactly 1 light minute long. This rod would run the same direction that the laser points to and is a two piece apparatus, or a rod inside...
[First post here, go easy on me please:shy:]
Is this similar to the disappearing Sun question? If the Sun instantaneously disappeared, we on Earth would not see it's disappearance for the several minutes it takes for light to travel that far. However, how long would it take for the...
