Books like A Brief History Of Time and The Black Hole War

I really don't think you should be asking for "astrology" books here , nor are brief history of time or the black holes wars are astrology books ! ??... but you could try Blackholes and Timewarps: Einstein's Outrageous Legacy - Kip Thorne Just Six Numbers - Martin Rees The Fabric of the...

How did your board practicals go ? I think if you get into some "awesome" engg. uni then it'd be better to just do engg. and later move into astrophyiscs.. otherwise just do B.Sc physics for some place good (there doesn't seem to be that many "good" physics places let alone "awesome" ones :P )...

Do Engineers Earn More Than Astrophysicists?

I'm not "solely" interested in making money; it has its usefulness so I wondered what kind of jobs we'd be getting . How is Hertfordshire Uni for Physics/Astro, they've got Sandwich year which means i'd be more employable as i'd have done some work.. ? Well, I was thinking of doing MEng...

Do Engineers Earn More Than Astrophysicists?

So is placement year, like training for a job like internship or do you have like a "proper" job ? How often do students get paid during this year; i understand it all depends on who is recruiting and what you are interested in and everything but just a basic idea of the ratio paid to volunteers...

Do Engineers Earn More Than Astrophysicists?

Thanks a lot for the info, just wondering I'm not entirely sure that in our Astrophysics courses we have anything to do with Finance or Accounts so how come Wall Street is a major employer ? Wouldn't the work there be given to more suitably qualified accountants and managers ? why would they...

Do Engineers Earn More Than Astrophysicists?

Thanks for the reply; would love more opinions.. Also, a few questions 1) If I take a sandwhich year/ placement year do I still have to pay the entire year's tuition fees ? 2) What kind of job could I get after doing B.Sc Physics/Astrophysics ? P'haps after a few years I could do Ph.D and...

Do Engineers Earn More Than Astrophysicists?

Astrophysics; Money matters... ?? Hi, A little intro to help you understand. I'm from India in 12th grade or A-Levels, and was applying to British Uni's for Undergrad studies. I was thinking either B.Sc Physics/Astrophysics (1st Priority) or Engineering preferably Aero Just to get a...

Schools Indian Colleges offering B.Sc Physics (H)

@Schrudo thanks for replying, would look forward to reading your write-up :D Other than CMI, all the places that you have mentioned have 5yr Integrated M.Sc (other than TIFR and HRI which are PG only ...) so what would be the best places to apply for a simple 3yr B.Sc Physics ?? Also, I...

Schools Indian Colleges offering B.Sc Physics (H)

@Mohsen If you really are going abroad it would be beneficial to go to Europe or USA as they ave a lot more options especially in pure sciences; altho the what I am attaching is rather harsh but has nuggets of advice (A guy mailed it to me when I asked about best place to study Physics...

Schools Indian Colleges offering B.Sc Physics (H)

Thanks a lot for your reply... I asked which you thought were the best as I've only applied for IIT-JEE, AIEEE and IISc and was wondering what other places are worth applying ; DU and CMI forms come out quite late don't they ? in March or some time ? So anyone ? B.Sc Physics (3yrs) other than...

@Sourabh N I entirely understand what you mean, if I do get slected their I'd be sure to talk to more ppl about it. Which institutes would you consider to THE best or one of the best for Physics ? You mentioned IMSc, well they only seem to have masters.. (btw if you know of a uni that has an...
