Vector displacement problem trouble
Daniel I think you are misreading the problem, they ask for the change in altitude from your starting point. Assuming that is 0m you just need to add or subtract the vertical distances they give you using say 0m as your starting point. Since they give you the changes in vector form you can...- Slacker142

Solving for Acceleration and Speed of a Rocket in Motion | Kinematics Problem
So this problem is giving me some issues, my algebra may be rusty so it has me stumped. A Rocket experiences constant acceleration upward for 16s and then stops accelerating. It continues upward and at time 20s the distance from the ground is 5100 meters. Find the acceleration experienced...- Slacker142

Is Lower Impulse Better for Surviving a Car Crash?
I just need some quick input. When dealing with impulse and say a car crash, would you want to have a larger impulse and thus a larger change in momentum or a smaller impulse and smaller change in momentum? It seems to me that with a car going say 50 km/hr with a mass of 1000kg then your...- Slacker142

Graduate Explaining Time Dilation and the Universe
thanks for the responses but he now seems to have an issue with time itself "Given that the uniformity of "time" was tested with a clock, I don't see how you can immediately even accept the notion of time and and then just assume the clock runs unaffected. OHOOHOH BUT WAIT! It's an atomic...- Slacker142

Graduate Explaining Time Dilation and the Universe
Im trying to explain to this guy why time dilation occurs and how asking what is beyond the edge of the universe is irrelevant. Ill start with his original question. "Forgive me if I'm wrong and my memory has faded, but consider this: what is empty space? What is there between matter? What...- Slacker142
