Equation for flux in reflected slab reactor
These are the equations I used for the core. For thermal flux in the core: And to get the fast flux from the thermal flux: Also, I know that at the reflector-core interface, the fluxes must be continuous, and there is no neutron source term in the reflector. Thanks- StudioSaturn

Equation for flux in reflected slab reactor
So, I've been at this for a while now. I am using my textbook (Introduction to NE, Lamarsh) and I cannot find a solution to calculate the thermal and fast fluxes in the reflector of a critical slab reactor. I have only been able to find solutions for the spherical shape, even online. As I...- StudioSaturn

Calculating Pressure Drop in Two-Phase Flow
Hi folks, my prof gave us some problems calculating pressure drop in two phase flow. She did some examples and somehow she got the density of water-liquid and water-vapor from steam tables, but she did not explain how. I have never used these. I am especially stumped on the density of...- StudioSaturn

Help choosing Nuclear Engineering Classes?
Cool thanks Quantum, good advice, I figured that was probably going to be the case. I'm hoping to find employment soon so I can tailor my classes toward an actual career.- StudioSaturn

Help choosing Nuclear Engineering Classes?
Hey I was hoping some of the established engineers on here could help me out. I have my B.S. in Physics, I work as an electrical engineer, and I'm starting my second semester for my M.S. in Nuclear Engineering. I am not currently employed in the nuclear field but I'm looking to move into it in...- StudioSaturn

Simple question about radioactivity equation
Ok, so the A(t2) = A(t1)*e-\lambdat2 and solve for A(t1). But what is A(t2)? 34650/10min? Then A(t1) = A(t0)*e1\lambdat1 and solve for A(t0) correct?- StudioSaturn

Simple question about radioactivity equation
hmm... Ok so here's the question from my book then. A sample X with Half-life 7.5min is measured from t1 = 3 min to t2=13 min. The total number of counts during those 10min is 34650. They want me to find the activity of the sample at t0=0... Any thoughts? Thanks for your help!- StudioSaturn

Simple question about radioactivity equation
In the radiactivity equation A = A0e-ln(2)t/T1/2 How do I get A0? Is that just ln(2)N0/T1/2? What if I don't know the initial number of atoms in the sample? Thanks...- StudioSaturn
