Understanding the Distribution of Negation in Propositional Logic
Hello Stephen! They provided the equation outlined below. My task was to convert it into english. ¬(P ^ ¬S). My shot at the solution was " I won't buy pants but I will buy shirt." The answer in the back stated " I won't buy pants without the shirt".- sunny79

Understanding the Distribution of Negation in Propositional Logic
Given that the negation is distributed across parenthesis, P become ~p and S gets double negation ~~S. Hence my solution was " I will not buy the pants but I will buy the shirt. (or and I will buy the shirt, since but can be used in the place of and). This is from How to prove things by...- sunny79

Finding truth value of each propositional variable.
Note: ^ represents and. V represents or ~ represents not T represents True F represents False My solution... I started by substituting T in all variables... [p^(qVr)]^ ~r [T^(TVT)] ^ ~T (T^T) ^ F T^F F The answer is p = True q = True r = False- sunny79

Appreciate the input Choppy. :) I have always been told that it is easier to transition from certain fields then vice versa. Case in the point, I know a professor who teaches financial engineering at a reputed school. He said that for someone with a strong mathematics background who might have...- sunny79

Is it true that if you try getting into research with a certain faculty ( not your major ), they would rather choose their own over you? For example , would it be difficult for a mathematics major to get into biophysics research in undergrad? Would the biophysics or any other research ( insert...- sunny79
