Differentiation Help: Find dy/dx of y=4-1/x
1. Hello everyone, my problem is with differentation. It seems to be quite simple but i can't understand it. Its basically find dy/dx of this equation: y=4-1/x 2. The only relevant equation is dy/dx 3. I know how to differentate the equation to get y'=4-x-1 but i don't know how to...- The riddler

Weight Gain and Economic Insecurity
I think one of the reasons is because in poor areas there is less options for exercise. Especially for children because today a lot of parents won't let them go far outside there homes due to fear of abuse. My Grandad (cool guy) always tells me storys about how he used to go out with his friends...- The riddler

High School When do neutron stars, supernovas, and pulsars form during a star's life?
Different sized stars come to different ends, all the stages you have mentioned (neutron star, supernova, pulsar form) happen at the end of a stars life. Neutron stars and Pulsars usually happen in stars between 1.35-2.1 solar masses (mass of the sun) and supernova's 1.4+ solar masses. Heres...- The riddler

Graduate Amount of kinetic energy in universe
It would be very hard to calculate all the Kinetic energy in the universe due to the fact it always changing with other energies (gravitational, thermal etc). What is the source of kinetic energy? = Complex question, like saying what is the source of Gravity. Dunno its just kinda there...- The riddler

Why some people are more prone to weight gain/obesity than others
I think genetics definitely has the most impact on how much weight we gain. I'm sure there are lots of other smaller factors such as "bacterial content of the gut" but when tit comes to tat genetics is probably most the dominant factor- The riddler

Does anyone else ever go in and out of liking physics?
Does anyone else ever go in and out of liking physics? I have this weird thing where one month all I want to do is nothing but physics and the next month nothing but play my guitar or something else. I don't do this as much as I did when i was younger, i used to try all sorts of crap like...- The riddler

Is a Passion for Physics Necessary to Succeed in Computer Engineering?
One of my favourite things about physics is the math involved. I've become kinda sick of of hearing how amazing black holes are, but i keep learning physics because i like to study princples such as Newtons laws and creating little situations through them where I have to find a certain factor...- The riddler

The Thrill & Fear of Riding in a Roller Coaster's Front Car
I don't really think this is the place to put this question, but i might as well answer anyway. There are multiple reasons why we find roller coasters scary. Along with the fact they go really fast and can be quite high up (which scares people in itself) adding onto this roller coasters scare...- The riddler

Graduate Is Free Will Possible in a Deterministic Universe?
No one really knows if the universe is deterministic or random (simples). But with free-will I am not sure. Answers.com defines free-will as "the power of making free choices unconstrained by external agencies" but we're effected by external agencies when we make desicisions all the time. For...- The riddler

Why did Britain lose the war over America's independence? Yesterday was independence day and it got me wondering why Britain losed the war for American independence. Undergrad What Are the Lunar Frequencies and Radiations Impacting Earth?
Nothing special, the moon is exposed to cosmic rays and solar flares but the effect of either these on the moon doesn't really cause any electromagnetic disruption or effect of any kind on the earth. To be blunt the moon is basically just a big rock. Planets like Mercury contain Iron and...- The riddler
