Another method to silence viruses .
medicalxpress.com/news/2014-11-scientists-mechanism-spontaneous-hiv.html Sorry, if it's in the wrong forum, is this method feasible?. I know in the genetic code, there are many stretches that resemble virus code(apparently silenced) , it's quite interesting they are using that as a starting...- thorium1010

Why don't we evolve into microbes?
Think of it another way , analogy like a person who hits the gym to build muscle size, does it frequently and will increase his muscle size. But once he stops it it will return to previous size , before he started his training. It may not be a good analogy , but extend this over long...- thorium1010

Evolution: Could speciation in humans happen by choice?

A question about Natural Selection
populations of organisms who do not adapt to their environment, they won't survive. So where's the question natural selection if they die of. You may call it biased, is it biased for organisms to live and adapt to the environment?. Accordingly mutations that give a slight advantage for...- thorium1010

Can Over-The-Counter Pain Medications Cause Liver Damage?
A good post.I think it should be stressed that a lot more acetaminophen is taken by patients unknowingly to them, as a part of combination with other drugs which is why FDA is issuing a warning. This increases the likelihood of daily dosage exceeding > 4 grams per day, since acetaminophen is...- thorium1010

Is sugar a dangerous drug? This guy thinks so.
So correct me, if i am wrong. It seems , major problem with current diet is with amount of sugar added to food. More important , the type of sugar (bad sugar) which is intentionally added to food i.e. fructose. So the traditional food grains (wheat, rice etc) are better than fructose. .- thorium1010

Is sugar a dangerous drug? This guy thinks so.
Bit of hyperbole, don't you think. People have been eating sugar from ages. The fructose and sucrose added to processed food is a recent invention(50 or 100 yrs). Why even alcohol is distilled from sugars.- thorium1010

Genetically more related to first cousin than sibling?
I am not seeing how you can make such a conclusion as one is more to related to cousins than their sibling. All of us receive a set of chromosomes from each parent. Genetic related ness is a vast topic and very complex one. Only in cases of gene disorders (single gene)(eg. hemophilia) will...- thorium1010

Is Modern Human Evolution Still Progressing or Have Selective Pressures Changed?
I am getting the impression that you are making evolution to be something which it is not. There is nothing called "progressive" in biology. Progressive is a political or a social term. i think You are confusing evolution with modern day technological advancement(or drawing a similar analogy)...- thorium1010

On evolution of humans and that of other animals: any discrepancy?
Actually the difference in the anatomical structures are trivial as far, i know. Maybe an expert talk about it. Bipedalism existed even before homo sapiens arrived, You should know, we belong to the hominid family of which many extinct groups found in the fossil records had one or more of our...- thorium1010

On evolution of humans and that of other animals: any discrepancy?
Define faster evolution? first of all what do you think evolution in biology mean? Development of technology ? Evolution has no goal, it simply is the idea of populations surviving over long period of time with adaptation and speciation. One recent definition involves change in allele...- thorium1010

Heating of atmospere by Sunlight(Not Climate change or global warming)
But, why does infrared contribute more compared to visible ? Is there a difference?. I was thinking whether a particular part of em spectrum caused majority of heating.- thorium1010
