Undergrad Vector and Plane Relationship in 3D
I have a quick question. If a Vector is contained inside a plane, would the normal of the plane be orthogonal to said vector? Thank you!- Travis Enigma

Is the Physics in the Avengers' Shield Collision Scene Accurate?
Oh, I see, I completely disregarded the fact that friction still acts on Cap. But what about the conservation of energy? I feel like air resistance would be negligible at this point if considered the strength of Thor's hammer. The kinetic energy of the hammer is transferred into light and sound...- Travis Enigma

Is the Physics in the Avengers' Shield Collision Scene Accurate?
Hi everyone, In my physics class, we are doing the Hollywood Physics Project. It's a project where you analyze the physics from a scene in a movie and talk about if it's accurate or not. I chose the scene from the Avengers where Thor strikes Captain America's shield with his hammer. The...- Travis Enigma

High School Difficulty with understanding whether 1/n converges or diverges
But the Limit is zero, therefore by the nth term test we know it doesn't diverge. Right? We may not know whether or not it converges, but it definitely doesn't diverge since the limit is zero and in order for it to diverge it must be nonzero?- Travis Enigma

High School Difficulty with understanding whether 1/n converges or diverges
Hi, I have a quick question about whether or not the infinite series of 1/n converges or diverges. My textbook tells me that it diverges, but my textbook also says that by the nth term test if we take the limit from n to infinity of a series, if the limit value is not equal to zero the series...- Travis Enigma

Gravitational Potential Energy on an Incline
Hi, When regarding Gravitational Potential Energy, I know the formula is U=mgh. However, when the object is on an incline (say at an angle of 52 degrees) would it still be mgh or something else? (This isn't homework I simply was just curious).- Travis Enigma

Work Done on an object by 3 Forces (Very Confused)
Here's a diagram of the object My Question: My friend and I were solving this problem. We both found Fxnet and Fynet. However to find work I did W= Fnet*d whereas he did W= Fxnet* d. He claims that since it's sliding on the floor it can only go in the x-direction, and it can't go in the...- Travis Enigma
