Well Mark if you examine the equation closely, you will find exp(-4Ax) is not common in whole equation its only common for {D^4-8AD^3+16(A^2)D^2}. Then how to take care of i/(constant)?
Help me to solve this equation....Urgent
Hi Friends
Can anyone tell me the solution of this equation
exp(-4Ax){D^4-8AD^3+16(A^2)D^2}+i/(constant)=0
where
i is complex no.
A is a constant
D indicates dy/dx or y'(x)
Please Reply ASAP
Thanks in Advance

Dear all
I have an equation which is as follows
[D^4+(2*D^3)-(D^2)-(2*D)+(i/(l^4))]y=0
where D=d/dz, l is a constant and i is a complex no.
I want to find out the roots of this equation. How can I find the roots. If there is any online calculator which is capable to do so please...
Sir, The physical problem belongs to planer wave where the physical medium which carries this wave have tapered cross section. Can this thing help you or I have to explain the problem in detail. All I want to ask (i/const.) is a complex no. so how can we take it as real no.
Sir
Can we treat i/const. as a constant. I am confused about it. Please help me in this regard. Can you suggest me some book having similar kind of problem. I will be thankful to you.

Hello ppl
I stuck with a differential equation and all I need is your kind help. While solving a problem I got one eqaution as given below
((Ax+B)^4)y''''+ ((Ax+B)^2)y''+(i/const.)y=0
here A, B, and const are constants
i denotes complex no (iota).
I...
