Undergrad Can you solve a Disk, Washer, Shell method problem without drawing a graph?
Because sometimes I may not draw the graph perfectly and may miss which equation is suppose to be subtracted from the other. I had this happen before. -

Studying Inquisitive studying bad for short term success and good 4 long term?
Im having a issue with studying physics. When I receive a HW problem I dive deep into the problem in a holistic way. I tend to start solving problems that are related to the HW problem but are not the HW problem itself. For instance, I received a pendulum problem and was asked to find its...- Vividly

Undergrad Question about Inverse Derivative Hyperbola function
There are different ways of doing math. As long as you follow the logic you can solve the problem. I do math in a way that I understand. I figured out what I did wrong. I was squaring the y^2 value to early in the problem. I was suppose to do it at the end to eliminate the square root. -
Undergrad Question about Inverse Derivative Hyperbola function
Im confused about a certain part of solving an equation. So I used the hyerbola formula to find the answer but I think I did the math wrong. X^2-y^2=c^2 X=1 Y= (2x^5-1)^2 I did the calculations as you can see in the picture but I know I messed up on the square root part. When you square one... -

Undergrad Is arcsec = 1 divided by arccos ? Arcsec = 1/arccos
I think I know what I did wrong. I redid the problem and got the right answer. I just don’t understand how when you put values in the calculator for arccosx and arcsec(1/x) you get and error for one and a number for the other.- Vividly

Undergrad Is arcsec = 1 divided by arccos ? Arcsec = 1/arccos
Its completely different. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Unless arccos(x) ≠arcsec(1/x) like I stated at the top right of the board.- Vividly
