Undergrad What is the formula for sound refraction?
One idea is to make a lens by taking a ring and stretching a balloon over it, and you could alter the focus of this lens by filling it or emptying it with a liquid that has less density than water. I haven't tried it, but it should work... I think.- WarVsFutility

Investigatory Project for physics
Try taking a series of long prisms and see if you can use constructive interference to make a solar panel make use of more of the energy in sunlight.- WarVsFutility

Undergrad Would a Faraday cage block all types of radar?
Say, maybe if you built a capacitor that covered a large area, it might get your desired effect, like if something were, instead of being inside of a faraday cage, inside of a hollow capacitor with a little charge. Just a thought...- WarVsFutility

Sooo, is there a "Plank length" regarding time, or is it infinitely divisible?- WarVsFutility

Undergrad Heating a Heat Engine - Efficiency Calculation
The actual amount of usable energy you should be able to use with a heat engine should be the related to the difference in temperature between your heat source and your heat sink.- WarVsFutility

Undergrad What is the formula for sound refraction?
I was thinking more along the lines of a sonar eyeball, to get higher resolution imaging through the water or through the ground.- WarVsFutility

Undergrad What is the formula for sound refraction?
So, a person could easily build a sound-focusing lense, right?- WarVsFutility

Undergrad What is the formula for sound refraction?
I know that electromagnetic waves travel slower in general through denser materials than through less dense materials. Sound waves, however, are the opposite. The formula for light refraction is the ratio of the sines of the incidence angles equals the respective speeds of light through the...- WarVsFutility

Graduate What Materials Can Magicians Use to Secretly Mark Playing Cards for Detection?
Yeah. You could have a watch or some radio device which detects which card you aren't in physical contact with anymore, and somehow communicate with you in an inconspicuous manner, like little shocks, or something. Each card could have its own IP address... then when it is taken out of the...- WarVsFutility

Undergrad High frequency acoustic waves underwater
I'm assuming you are mentioning sound of higher frequency than 1 Khz. Almost all water in nature has small particles or bubbles in it, and sound travels through those particles at different velocities than the water around it. When sound with such short wavelengths travel through those...- WarVsFutility
