Determine the acceleration of the sled
Homework Statement A 4.41 kg penguin sits on a 11.5 kg sled, as seen in the figure below. A horizontal force of F = 58.7 N is applied to the sled, but the penguin attempts to impede the motion by holding onto a cord attached to a tree. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the sled...- wick85

Average acceleration of particle
Initially, a particle is moving at 5.27 m/s at an angle of 35.9° above the horizontal. Two seconds later, its velocity is 6.27 m/s at an angle of 57.4° below the horizontal. What was the particle's average acceleration during these 2.00 seconds in the x-direction and the y-direction...- wick85

How Do You Solve the Relative Motion Problem Between Mary and Jane?
I thought you could only use those rules in a right triangle where the other two sides were 45 degrees. one of the sides of this right triangle is 63.6 degrees. I know the problem should be easy, but it keeps fooling me- wick85

How Do You Solve the Relative Motion Problem Between Mary and Jane?
[b]1. Two soccer players, Mary and Jane, begin running from nearly the same point at the same time. Mary runs in an easterly direction at 4.45 m/s, while Jane takes off in a direction 63.6o north of east at 5.12 m/s How long is it before they are 24.3 m apart? How far apart are they after...- wick85
