    Pi happens to be a transcendal no. meaning-you can't get its value by any algebraic method. If this a puzzle, you could get a nobel prize for the answer.

    It is impossible to get such a solution by adding two different surds or you could add the same surd to itself and get a surd as deadwolfe says.

    Suppose a polynomial is divided by (x-1) and remainder=2 and when the same polynomial is divided by (x-2), remainder is 3. What is the remainder when the polynomial is divided by (x-1)(x-2)? Why?
