Undergrad Why is the unit of flux density different from the unit of electric flux?
Thanks a million! I was really confused ( being an engineer and a physics enthusiast can therefore lead to clashing definitions of flux!) ... Why, may i then ask, are there two types of electrical fluxes? is there any relation between the two( i.e " E flux" and "D flux")? And why do engineers...- yash25

Undergrad Why is the unit of flux density different from the unit of electric flux?
Im sorry, but I couldn't understand what you meant by Have they considered permittivity to be unity in the CRC handbook? So what would be the correct equation of the flux? Would it be the integral of the electric field or the flux density?- yash25

Undergrad Why is the unit of flux density different from the unit of electric flux?
Yes. That's true. But as I mentioned before, some books on Electromagnetic Engineering (like Jordan and Balmain), equate Electric flux to the amount of charge(i.e psi=Q). They have used the Faraday thought experiment of two concentric spheres for proving this equality. I have never heard of...- yash25

Undergrad Why is the unit of flux density different from the unit of electric flux?
The unit of Electric flux is N.(m^2)/C. But how is it , that the Flux density(which is nothing but flux per unit area) has a unit of C/(m^2).? Also , I have a book in Electromagnetic Engineering which states that "'electric displacement' and 'electric flux' are the same thing and both are...- yash25

Graduate A thought experiment doubt on General Relativity.
I was reading a chapter on "General Relativity" a few days ago. (I was reading Arthur Beiser: Modern Physics)I found it very hard to digest the relation between the "Equivalence Priciple" and "The General Theory of relativity".The equivalence relation states that "An observer in a uniformly...- yash25

What Is the Book on Quantum Physics by an Author Whose Name Starts with BIE?
Yes , it is Arthur Beiser. Well, I've got a doubt of my own. Now, I am an electronics engineering student, and I've had very little experience with physics. Also, I was very intruged by quantum physics and it's use in the basics of electronics like electron flow, superconductivity, etc. Is this...- yash25

High School Beginner's Guide to Stargazing: Tips for Observing Space from Mumbai, India
Well, I am an absolute beginner at astronomy, but I'm really very interested..I want to start stargazing and observing space and studying space and stuff. can anybody help me? I don't have a telescope or any written material or guides or anything related to space...so any suggestions will be of...- yash25

High School Color of Clouds: Dark Pink at Night, White in Morning?
No...that can't be...because I'm staying in a residential area. Ald my house faces the sea. The clouds on top of the sea also are pink in colour! They're slightly dirty pink(pink mixed in murky black?)- yash25
