They did give mass of electron and proton in equation table though.

Which atoms have lower binding energies than iron?

Homework Statement The problem is attached Homework Equations E=Delta{m}c2 The Attempt at a Solution Since I don't know the mass of any of the things they gave in the question, how do I calculate the mass defect and from there the binding energy per nucleon?

Harmonics in Music: Pan Flute, Filters & Distortion

I made a pan flute that has 1 open end and 1 closed end, so when i blow into it, the fundamentral frequency I put actually generates harmonic freqeuncies of 2f,3f,4f... and this creates distortions? Is this correct? If so, why most musical intruments don't have any distortions and sound nice? Is...

Can Destructive Interference Completely Silence Music?

This website sit said this:"Another simple example of two sound waves with a clear mathematical relationship between frequencies is shown below. Note that the red wave has three-halves the frequency of the blue wave. In the music world, such waves are said to be a fifth apart and represent a...

Scientific principles involved in Pan flute

Sorry its not in a panflute but one of my friend said that he would push something and this pitch of the sound changed as the volume decreased but I am not sure. I had seen that link before and already included those in my project. I wanted more like acoustic impedance, overtone and maybe more...

Can Destructive Interference Completely Silence Music?

I understand that when constructive interference occurs, music is produced, destructive interference can also happen right? Then it is possible that sometimes no sound is produced at all? Thanks!

Scientific principles involved in Pan flute

I am doing a physics project on finding the scientific principles involved in pan flute. Could people just put down some phenomenon that is relevant to this? One I know I think is the helmholtz principle, but can I use those equations, becuase from what I read, it seems like there is water...

Confusion of circle and sphere for physics problems

Homework Statement The problem is attached Homework Equations P=F/A The Attempt at a Solution I did the question like this (got wrong answer though): Surface area of sphere=4∏r2=4×∏×0.252 Atmospheric pressure=1.01×105 Force=1.01×105×4×∏×0.252≈80000N Actual answer 20000N...

    Thermal expansion olympiad problem

    Surface area of earth=4∏r2≈5.1×1014m2 5.1×1014×1500W/m2=7.65×1017 Watt=J/s, 7.65×1017×60×60×24≈6.61×1022=Total energy in one day. E=mc2, Thus m=E/c2=\frac{6.61×10^{22}}{3.0×10^{8}} ≈7.34×105

    Thermal expansion olympiad problem

I actually haven't learned how to use that equation but when i use it by Dividing E/c^2=m , I got the wrong answer, (E) the answer given was (D)
