Then I guess I should go with all white ones?
The issue is that the Xbox 360 controller only supplies max 2.5 volts via 2 AA 1.2v 2000mAh rechargable batteries. Is there a way to boost the voltage with a small IC chip of some sort?
Well I tried a 330 ohm on one led and it's so dim you can barely tell it's lit. it's abount the same as a 3.9k resitor. How do I get them brighter?
Also is the fact that there are different colors off the same suply of 2.5 volts going to matter?
It's almost like I need to amplify the voltage...
I have another LED situation. I have 11 LED's for a Xbox 360 controller and 3 are blue and 2 are green and 7 are white all are 0603 smd type. I tried a bunch of different resistors I have and the won't even light it up. The only one is a 3.9K 1/2 w resistor and it is super dim.
I have no idea...
Yes the Xbox 360 that I'm doing now is orange led's. I custom painted it for orange and blue separated by a white line. It has the bears logo on it as well.
The one in the pic is one I did before. I actually used a parallel for the led's except I put a 470 ohm resistor between each LED and...
Now they wouldn't let me us this quote to start another thread even though it is a different project entirely as well as a different construct.
So I want to be able to figure this out as well. Any help would be useful. I just won't be able to have it seen by many to get people that want to...
Well I just want to thank everyone that replied to this thread and I appreciate all the help! I'll be using the correct series arrays from now on so I don't have to worry about what resistor to use in the future.
Here's a completed Xbox 360 LED project:

So you're saying I can just solder all 15 220 ohm 1/2 watt 5% resistors like the five that are in this pic and attach the opposite resistor end to 12v?

Ok I'll buy them then. The 220 ohm x 15. any chance you could point me to a diagram as to where to put each resistor?
I'm going to have to really break down and learn these calculations. Like how to calculate voltage drop = 9.96 volts, 15 resistors in parallel give 13 Ω, 679 mA,195 Ω, ect.
Thanks metiman. I am lost when it comes to the gargin/termanalogy/formulas that you posted regarding the circuit it's all latin to me and I don't read/write or speak latin.
I do appreciate your help with this and your time analyzing my problem.
Now the leads broke off the original...
Will this one get too hot as well or will it be less hot than the ceramic?:

Will it be safe next to the other component's in the Xbox 360?
Thank you metiman and vk6kro for the education on running series. I'll probally do that next time. Now for this Project it would be too much work to start over since I already have them installed.
I am assuming that the single resistor I used to get a less than desired effect for...
Thanks vk6kro.
I knew of that method. The issue I have is I want to run it in parallel with just one resistor as it's easier to solder hat way and I prefer to do it that way. I am going to just use the resistor that I mentioned previously (Gold, Brown, Orange, Orange) at least for this one...
Sound Reactive LED Project
I wanted to see if Someone can help me confirm if I have everything in order on this project. I previously installed this setup in Another Xbox 360 and it worked but the last two I tried it in it did not work. The switch is supposed to switch from constant LED on and...
Well my problem is i don't know anything about this stuff. I just do trial and error. I have a few different resistors laying around and none give the desired result as far as LED brightness. Some don't illuminate at all and others are too dim. I use a single resistor that gave me a somewhat...
Hope I got the right section. First time poster! Hello all!
I'm pretty much a Noob so forgive any ignorance.
I'm running 31 Orange (2.2v) (24 ma) LED's on a parallel circuit. My power supply is 12v from the DVD power supply of a Xbox 360. I bought a 10 watt 15Ω clay type resistor per a...
