alternatives to teaching

i finished a masters in mathematics without thinking too much about what i was going to do with it. i have just been reading a lot in prep for an hypothetical phd. the default is to go into academia forever seeking tenure. any way to get out of this?

That depends- what do you want to do with your life? What is your 5-year plan and your 10-year plan? How did obtaining an advanced degree in Mathematics fit in with your plan?

If you have no plan, you should make one. What do you want to do with the next 5 years? If you knew you were going to die in 5 years, for what would you want to be remembered?
