Could someone explain all the reasons that balls made to bounce are spherical? Bouncing = collision, so I guess I mean any ball that is meant to collide.
Bouncing balls are designed as spheres to optimize performance due to their uniform shape, which ensures consistent collision dynamics and energy distribution during impacts. Non-spherical shapes, such as cubes, would result in unpredictable bounces and varied trajectories, negatively affecting gameplay or performance in sports. Additionally, the spherical design minimizes air resistance and enhances stability, making it the preferred choice for various applications, including sports and camping gear like mountain tents.
